1- Do I need a referral to been seen and treated by Dr. Stadler andCommonwealth Sports Medicine?
Some types of insurance require a referral from your primary care physician prior to your visit. If you are uncertain, the best thing to do is to call the member information number on your health insurance card and ask your benefits representative.
2- What are your business hours?
Our office is open: Monday 8:30 – 4:30
Tuesday 8:30 – 4:30
Wednesday 10:00- 5:30
Thursday 8:30 – 4:30
Friday 8:30 – 2:00
Throughout the season as the need dictates, there will be Saturday morning clinics available. Dr. Stadler is additionally ‘on-call’ after hours for emergencies at 270-7750. Please contact the office for specific holiday hours. Appointments can be made by calling our specialists during office hours.
3- Can x-rays be done in your practice?
Yes, if you do not already have x-rays, then we have an x-ray facility within our practice.
4- Do I need to schedule a follow-up appointment to review my x-rays?
Since we have the ability to take x-rays in our office, we do not feel that is necessary to schedule another visit to review them with you.
5- Do I need to schedule a follow-up appointment after my MRI?
Yes. You should set up an appointment to discuss the results of your MRI within one week after the date the MRI was performed. If you are able to return the same day with your MRI and there is available time in the office schedule to discuss it, then you do not need to schedule another appointment. If your schedule will not permit you to return the same day, you should call to set-up an appointment on the next available day.
6- If my injury requires surgery, will physical therapy be required after surgery?
Major surgery on a joint may take two or three hours in the operating room. Getting a full range of motion, strength and flexibility back in that joint after surgery usually takes months. Pre-operative exercise and education and post-operative physical therapy programs come in – to ensure you’re physically and emotionally prepared for surgery, and to maximize your recovery after surgery. Together, such programs are among the most important determinants in the success of your surgery.
7- What should I bring with me when I come for an appointment?
When you come for your appointment remember to bring the following:
* Have your insurance information, and identification
* Copies of operation records, medical records, x-rays, MRIs, CT scans
and so on from prior doctor visits.
* If you have seen a Physical Therapist, please bring a progress letter from
the therapist.
* Please bring in your running or riding shoes with a pair of shorts (and bicycle if needed).
8- Can I receive physical therapy at Commonwealth Sports Medicine, even if I have not seen Dr. Stadler?
Yes, as long as you have a referral generated by another doctor to have physical therapy at CSM. We can not schedule an initial physical therapy appointment before you have the referral in hand or faxed to our office.
